16 Attack Win Gold! (4/1/12)
Borderline 16 Attack came home with the Gold at the 17R Borderline Tournament on April 1st! After a long, exhausting day, the team could not be happier to finish the way they did. They started off strong winning the first two pool matches, then suffered a close loss to Toldeo Dynamic. Happy to move to the gold bracket and finishing 2-1 in pool play, the best part about the morning was seeing major improvements on the skills the girls have been focusing on in practice. Once tournament play began, Attack was in the right mindset to finish as well as they had started. Collectively, the team agreed that they didn't care as much about what place they earned, they just didn't want to go home! With that, the girls were the loudest team in the gym and the energy could not be stopped. This, along with an amazing group effort and consistent play, pushed them through to the championship round with our very own Borderline 16 Hawks. This was a matchup many players were anxious to play and one many were curious to see. They are an amazing team and a great group of girls, making it a blast to watch both sides compete. After trading sets, Attack persevered to overcome an 11-14 deficit in the third game and rally for the win! The team takes the court again April 29 in the Borderline 16U tournament in Oxford.
