Borderline Officiating Scrimmage

*The Friendship Tournament at Spooky Nook tomorrow, January 5,2025 will be
held as scheduled. *

*The court schedule is attached. Please share with your coaches. *

We will monitor the weather throughout the morning for any significant
changes. The Clinic for 1st and second referee and the scorekeeping will
start at 8:15 and end at 9:30. Play will begin ASAP, @ 10 am. No matches
will begin after 5pm.

Spooky Nook will open their doors at 7:00 am. Athletes should arrive no
later than 8:00 am and meet with their coaches on the court.  Coaches,
please split your team into Scorers no more than 6 and the remaining
athletes will attend the Second Referee /Line judge clinic. If you have an
assistant, one coach should go to each session. *Parents are not permitted
in the gym until the scrimmage. *They can sit in the food court area,
Mezzanine or leave and return when the scrimmage begins.

If you do not have your uniforms, please have your teams wear shirts with
numbers. You can use tape to modify jersey numbers if necessary. If you
have a Libero, they need to have a contrasting jersey or a shirt without a
number. You can use more than one Libero.

In a 4-team pool each match consists of one set to 25 points and one set to
15 points. In a 3-team pool each match will be automatic two sets to 25 and
one set to 15. The warmup is 7-4-4 for each team’s first match, then 2-4-4
for the remaining matches. You do not have to have a full warm up if both
coaches agree.

The girls will be rated as R2s and Scorers. There are two tables at each
court for multiple ratings.  Each team will provide a Libero Tracker,
flipper, and 2-line judges. The R2 must provide her own whistle. We have
whistles to purchase $6.00 each. Coaches must be with their teams at the
scorer’s table.

Officials will rate candidates for certification. Coaches should give
completed rating forms to their club director to enter in the OVR
database.  There are no longer certification cards.

We want everyone to be safe during their travels. Borderline will continue
to monitor the weather conditions and will end the scrimmage early if
necessary.
